School of Sustainability

Welcome to the

School of Sustainability

Sustainable Development is the policy agenda of our time and demands solutions which integrate economic, environmental and social objectives.

The School of Sustainability has for many years been advancing this agenda and working with students, governments and non-government organisations, businesses, and communities to develop these solutions locally and globally.

Located within a University that has leading environmental and life sciences programs, and a network of innovative research institutes, the School is a particularly dynamic place for teaching and research. We offer innovative undergraduate courses in Sustainable Development, International Aid and Development, Climate Change Management, and Sustainable Business. The School also offers a wide range of postgraduate courses which provide cutting-edge knowledge and professional skills.

The School is committed to engaging with communities in solving real world problems. Our teaching integrates theory and practice, and aims to provide students with opportunities for work experience, learning from practitioners and involvement in interesting, relevant projects with our many partner organisations. We are committed to research that ‘makes a difference’ and undertake a wide range of applied research projects in areas including international development, ecosystem and human health, resilient regions, regional climate change management, sustainable agriculture and sustainable development and business.

Now is a great time to join our School. You'll join a particularly knowledgeable and dynamic community of students, researchers, high-achieving alumni and sustainability experts who are committed to making a difference for a more sustainable world.
